Storyline of  Strangerland

Newcomers to the remote Australian desert town of Nathgari, Catherine and Matthew Parker's lives are flung into crisis when they discover their two teenage kids, Tommy and Lily, have mysteriously disappeared just before a massive dust storm hits. With Nathgari eerily smothered in red dust and darkness, the townsfolk join the search led by local cop, David Rae. It soon becomes apparent that something terrible may have happened to Tommy and Lily. Suspicions run riot, rumours spread and public opinion turns savagely against the Parkers. With temperatures rising and the chances of survival plummeting with each passing day, Catherine and Matthew find themselves pushed to the brink as they struggle to survive the mystery of their children's fate.

Strangerland  Reviews

Horror in every what but it's intent to be a horror
13 July 2015 |

This isn't, nor I dare say was it trying to be, no wolf creek here, nor lovely bones.

Having said all that, this nearly two hour long monstrosity is time one will never get back, so hopefully dear reader you are more sensible than I and are reading reviews first and shall find those two hours would be better spent reading, writing a letter, researching your ancestry, knitting socks or counting the stars in the sky, basically anything would be a better use of two hours of breathing time than watching this movie. As Madonna should probably retire from music with some shred of dignity remaining, so to should the actors and director of this utterly dull, uninspired, insipid pile of sheep poo.

So yes, next time I see these names involved in cinema I will sensibly get some knitting needles if only to poke my eyes out Nzd to stab my ears no common sense.
